Default Wanna be a Pilot

Found this on Fakebook, no date listed but I suspect it is older ? Any chance my good friends Super restorer Dave "A12pilot" or maybe Phil "Woj" penned this growing up ?
Pretty funny anyway, enjoy
Mike

“skkknnzzzzzzzzzzz.....” Huh, Wha..What??? Sorry, I wasn’t paying attention. See, when we’re in cruise, I turn on the autopilot, put on my feety pajamas and night cap with the Pom-Pom on the end, then walk through first class with my candle lit guiding my way to my bunk until it’s time to descend. Yyyyyyyaaaawwwnnn....smack, smack (stretch) (itch itch)...Guess I’ll go land this thing..

All I can say is as the saying goes, it’s hours of boredom followed by moments of sheer terror! But that little guy pretty much hit the nail on the head at the end, as hopefully you all can attest to as well, That I haven’t “worked” a day in my life at this “job” and hope it stays that way! When you love what you do, you never actually go to work!

See? That wasn’t so bad, right Mikey!? (PM sent Phil...He thinks he’s so big with his flawless work n’ junk...this is freakin’ bulshhhh...oh wait...that wasn’t supposed to be typed out!)

Cheers
Dave

Yep, "the have to go to work part" is what I have been avoiding my whole life. Seriously, it is a great job, but it is true about hours upon hours of boredom interrupted by moments of sheer terror... or not seeing the runway at 50' above the ground landing in heavy fog (we still hand fly these approaches at my company, (most airlines have automatic landing equipment)). I like the statement that they make more than they know what to do with. Dave and I do not have that problem. We know how to spend every dime!

Funny article. Thanks for sharing.

I talked to a guy at the SCR who had a Motion Camaro there. Sorry, I'm terrible at remembering names. We looked at each other's cars and talked for a while. I mentioned that I've worked a GE Aviation for 33 years as a welder, furnace operator and tool maker, and he said that he was a pilot and the plane that he flies has GE engines on it. We make the high pressure turbine blades and airfoils, and I named off a few of the engines that I've worked on, CFM56, CF6-80C, GENX, GE90 and a few more. So when you look out on the wing and see a GE engine I probably had something to do with it. We try to make quality stuff so you guys can stay in the air.
