'61 Impala SS 409/4-sp Convertible
Nice car - wish Verne were still around to sniff this one out! Doesn't exactly suggest an original engine when the seller claims the *casting number* is correct for '61...wouldn't these have had the partial VIN stamped on the deck?

I still have a series of PM's from Verne that we exchanged last summer when discussing another 61 Impala. From one of those PM's, here's a quote from Verne regarding CON VIN stamping on 61 Hi-Po engines....
"I've seen plenty of real hi-perf '61 engines and none of them had a VIN derivitive on them." Thanks, Verne....you're still helping us out!
