1963 #6 & #28 Yenko Corvettes that raced at Sebring
Searching for information on the 1963 #6 and #28 Yenko corvettes that raced at Sebring. Where are they now?
I believe the #6 car has been restored but not sure on #28. Thanks

that is the Z06 that was raced by Alvin Forsyth Chevrolet
Forsyth was a Chevy dealer from the Pittsburgh area and was in the Steel Cities region of the SCCA along with Gulf Oil’s Grady Davis and Don Yenko The Yenko/Gulf Oil Corvette Racing team had two new 1963 Z06 Corvettes , one blue one white. Grady drove the blue one on the street sometimes but it was also raced (attached a pic with PA licence plate) all 3 of these Z06 Corvettes have been found and restored here is the story on the Alvin Forsyth Chevrolet Z06 #81 https://www.corvetteblogger.com/2013...-corvette-z06/ |

In the original 2 photos the #81 Forsyth car appears to have a radio antenna installed on the roof .....I have not seen this on many of the Z06 race cars....was this a common modification?

Gulf Oil Research had some smart engineers on staff. They were using an all mechanical on board diagnostic system that recorded time, rpm, and mph and linked it to the position on the track. It plotted the info on a circular graph inside the car. That was in 1963 |

something else crazy about the #81, although it was ordered as a race car it has power windows.
as an aside The 63 Z06 race car with the front clip knocked off that Dave, Guy, and I pulled out of a Colorado barn a few years ago also had power windows... power windows in ordered race cars?
