Known as, “The Dirty Ford” – this 1962 Ford F100 Unibody Pickup Custom is loaded with modern features and is the ultimate street cruiser. It was built by Legendary Customs located in La Crosse, WI. The entire restoration is documented over 18 YouTube episodes from the beginning of the build to the reveal. The vision of build was to create a classic truck that would be re-finished with patina but would have a modern interior, engine compartment and undercarriage. The truck body was paired with a 2011 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor frame along with all the mechanicals. The car only had 35,000 original miles. As the original VIN and Warranty tag indicates this truck was built in September of 1961, as a 1962 model in Norfolk, Virginia. It left the factory as a 2-wheel drive F100 with a Red/White exterior, 6-cyclinder engine and 3-speed manual transmission. The truck was purchased in Siloam, North Carolina April 3rd, 2018 by Brett Nigro who lives in Windham, Hew Hampshire. At the time of purchase it was in need of a complete restoration. Brett collaborated with Legendary Customs because of their excellent reputation and knowledge with vehicle to vehicle frame swaps. The restoration started in January of 2019 and was completed in August of 2019. Brett enjoyed the truck and accumulated over 3,500 problem free miles. Brett decided to sell the truck after four years ownership and sold it to MS CLASSIC CARS in September of 2023. This vehicle has a clean New Hampshire title that reads 1962 Ford F100 Pickup. The 2011 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor clean Indiana title is also included for legal purposes.


The exterior of “The Dirty Ford” attracts a ton of attention with its overall appearance. The exterior was designed to look like an original vintage truck that survived the last six decades. There’s nothing more Patriotic than a classic pickup that has worked hard helping build America. During the restoration process any rust was removed and the tailgate was replaced with a reproduction piece. However, the original body dings and dents were intentionally left alone to keep the original appearance. The truck was professionally repainted in its original colors of Red and White. Once the body was painted, a custom blend of colors was airbrushed all over the body to resemble original looking patina. Once everything was completed the entire body was clear coated for protection. The paint was recently detailed to a brilliant shine. The original front grill and bumpers were painted white. The original emblems were reused to keep the patina theme. Some of the custom exterior features include an integrated 3rd brake light, all new tinted glass throughout, dual chrome mirrors, new door seals, LED headlights with built in daytime running halo lights and halo turn signals. The custom raised rear Cherry Wood and Epoxy Live Edge bed is beautiful. It was decorated with a metal Legendary Customs sign that was mounted flush to the floor and clear coated over. It was also decorated with a vintage First Aid kit that houses the fuel filler. The tailgate is held with two cables that are rated for 500 pounds each. When the tailgate is lowered it exposes a door that allows access to the new 1976 Ford Bronco fuel tank and fuel pump. Two under bed storage compartments were integrated on each side. A hidden receiver and wiring was integrated for towing which is concealed behind the license plate. The custom made hitch is included and currently being stored in one of the compartments. The truck has a great stance on 17x8 Police Interceptor wheels that were powder coated black with chrome Ford center caps. The wheels are wrapped with new Toyo Proxes R1R SL tires that are 235/40/17 on the front and 245/45/17 on the rear.


The new interior of “The Dirty Ford” is in beautiful condition with many tasteful upgrades. The entire cabin was wrapped with insulation to reduce noise and keep the temperature comfortable. The dash and doors were professionally painted red to match the exterior. The dash has all new switches and knobs. It was sent to the Ragz Shop located in Onalaska, Wisconsin for all the upholstery work. The headliner, sun visors, kicker panels, center console, bench seat and rear panel was covered in red leather which looks very rich. The bench seat was custom formed with bucket seats for extra support. The door panels were outfitted with black arm rests and the floors were covered with new black carpeting to match. Some of the custom interior features include aluminum gauge bezel, Dolphin black gauges, polished tilt steering wheel, Banjo steering wheel with black wrap, Vintage Air Conditioning and heating, dash vents, chrome trimmed black door pocket covers for storage, cup holders, USB connection and 3-point seat belts. It’s equipped with a Kenwood stereo, 5.25 front speakers, 6x9 rear speakers and 8” S/O amplifier sound system for the ultimate music experience.


The painted engine compartment is highly detailed throughout with many upgraded parts. The truck has a custom wiring harness. The truck is powered by the factory 4.6L EFI V8 that was tuned by Mo’s Speed Shop and runs excellent. A hand held tuner is included. The engine was painted silver and the engine cover was painted red. It was outfitted with a custom air intake. The engine breathes through a new dual stainless side exhaust system with electronically operated cut outs (dumps). The side exhaust exit holes were tastefully integrated into the lower section of the bed in front of the rear tires. The front catalytic converters are being used but the rear catalytic converters were removed. The engine is coupled to the factory 4R75W automatic 4-speed transmission that shifts smoothly. The power is transferred to the Ford Performance traction-lok differential with new 3.73 gears.


The undercarriage is nicely detailed throughout with many upgraded parts. The underside was painted black for durability. The frame was media blasted and also re-finished in black. It’s equipped with power steering and power four wheel disc brakes that were upgraded. It’s also equipped with a Watts 4-link rear suspension system.
