Yeah, they look good black! I didn't notice the trunk stripe decal along with the fender emblems. Like 72heavychevy said, most likely an original stripe car. It wouldn't have left the factory that way. My car was a stripe car, but has emblems on it now. The original owner removed the stripes and put the emblems on.

As I’ve said in the past, this is one of those narrow market cars where a nicely-done 4-speed conversion with factory parts would not hurt value because the fun-to-drive ratio outweighs the investment ratio. Just be sure to include the original, mundane automatic transmission on a wooden skid for the next owner!

A 4-speed can be more fun to drive, but a CY coded turbo 400 with a shift kit is not really that mundane.

I agree...unless you have driven a high-shift point TH400 you can't appreciate the experience. The CY tranny was bullet proof....
