'62 421/4-speed Grand Prix
Neat car, guessing it's not a factory issue 421 (believe all '62 421 factory installations were Super Duty cars) but nice car nonetheless.
I love the styling on these...especially the tail lamps and rear trim. Really highlights the wide track appearance. Link to 1962 Grand Prix auction |

Yes sir, all of the 62 Grand Prix's with 421 motors were Super Duty's and there were only 16 of them.

My all time favorite Poncho, along with the 61/62 Catalinas/Venturas.
In 1975 I passed on an original owner black/black '62 GP tri-carb with rusty quarters, asking $150. But that's also the year I passed on a '69 Yenko Chevelle for $2,500. Dumb A$$....... |

in Petes book it says there were 68 documented 29J which were 421 autos so unless changed the 4 speed would not be correct?Tom

If it is a legit 62 421 (I don't think it is) wouldn't you think it would have a generator instead of that alternator? That alternator bracket looks like 1963 to me. I'd bet that is a 63 motor but I could be wrong. Also, are my eyes playing tricks on me or what, there are two photos showing the console and it looks like a different console in the second photo.
