Default 1969 L78 396 Motor - Ready to drop in

I have a good running 396 L78 motor out of a 1969 Chevelle 4-speed with an original casting date of D8-9 (April 8, 1969).

Original 4-bolt main block with the big plug by the oil filter.

The numbers stamped in the deck are T0610JD 19B394809 (assembled June 10, 1969 for an L78-375 HP 4-speed Chevelle with this partial VIN).

The casting numbers on the original square port heads are 3919840. One is dated C-12-9 and the other C-13-9. Sorry for the sizing of the photos ;-]

I noticed that the motor was discussed on the following threads dating back to 2013:

http://www.chevellestuff.net/1969/engines/index.htm

http://chevellestuff.net/orphaned/or..._paperwork.htm

http://www.chevelles.com/forums/15-t...19b394809.html

If you own the Chevelle that this motor was born with, please send me a PM and we'll work towards reuniting the car with it's motor.

The motor is in excellent running condition (did not run hot) and was purchased from a reputable Chevelle owner. I have a video of the running motor that I can text. This motor needs a distributor, carb, a good degrease and fresh paint... and this motor is ready to be dropped into your engine bay!

The motor is located in Elmhurst, Ill. I will keep it if I can ship it home.

I'm asking $6,500 or beast reasonable offer. Thanks

I must do some house cleaning (actually I'm trying to cleanup Dan's garage), so $5,500 USD will put this motor in your engine bay! Not literally... you'll have to install the engine yourself ;-]

This motor will be available for pickup in the Chicago area if you're heading to MCACN.

Make me a reasonable offer, take it home, and drop it in your car!
