1968 Pontiac Firebird Body Shop Find
1968 Firebird Body Shop Find – No Reserve!
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayIS...=STRK:MESELX:IT Originally Flambeau Burgundy with Black vinyl top and Parchment bucket interior, now blue in color, this Firebird is a great candidate for restoration or Pro-Touring modification. This car was sold new on April 18th, 1968 at Napoli Motors in Milford, Connecticut and has been a local car it’s entire life. Built the 3rd week in March at the Lordstown Ohio plant the car is in good shape for what it is. It was purchased recently out of a local body shop where it had sat for more than 10 years waiting for it’s chance. Originally equipped with an automatic transmission, console, manual drum brakes, power steering driver & passenger side outside mirrors, and vinyl top. The trunk floor is solid and the shock mounts are perfect. The interior floors are good and solid, and the shifter hole hasn't been butchered. The odometer shows 93,101 miles which could be original. There is no motor or transmission, but the seats are all there and not in bad condition - need to be cleaned. The door panels, side & rear panels are all there and would need to be cleaned up. The dash pad is cracked but those are easy to find. All of the body parts are there, front/rear bumpers, valence, hood is super nice. Hood is drilled for the OHC-6 emblems, but the vin on the car shows it to be an 8-cylinder (350/400) not a 6-cylinder car, so at some point this was changed. The quarters have had some new metal panels put in, but they would need to be finished or replaced to be show worthy. The rear window is missing but those are easy to replace as well. It has an 8.5" posi rear in it now, not sure what the gears are. Tires look to be new Firestone’s with no wear and are on American Racing Outlaw II’s which are in good condition.. Documentation includes warranty booklet and owner’s guide, original coupon for warranty service and other items. Connecticut does not issue titles on vehicles built prior to 1981 so this will be sold with a bill of sale and the transferable registration form showing prior ownership. This vehicle is sold AS-IS and there are no express or implied warranties. If you would like to inspect this vehicle prior to placing a bid, please get in touch with me. Please do not bid if you do not intend to purchase the vehicle because it is just a waste of your time and mine. $500 deposit paid via PAYPAL or bank transfer must be completed within 48 hours of auction end. Balance to be paid within 7 days from auction end and prior to pick up. Transportation can be arranged with any shipping company however I have had excellent experience with Reliable Carriers www.reliable-carriers.com and would highly recommend them. THIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION SO BID TO OWN! |

Re: 1968 Pontiac Firebird Body Shop Find
It's on e-bay but I would take $3,500 for it in a heartbeat.

I remember Napoli Pontiac in Milford. I grew up in Orange, CT, right next door. I lived there from '63 to '72.

They're still there, just Nissan and the used car outlet now.
Len Napoli is a real good friend to the local clubs, used to sponsor a show every year for the Nutmeg Chapter.
