Default Hone O Drive

Does any one which gear lube should be used in the Hone O Drive?

I believe it's GM dexron automatic transmission fluid.

Found this pic and it does look like it's auto trans fluid. hard to read if it specifies Dexron... maybe someone can enlarge it.

As a side note, these were originally built only for Ford applications, so it may want FOMOCO fluid ? The 300 universal model came along well after the initial introduction, so I would believe the lube requirements would be the same as the earlier Ford models...

The 300 hone o drive instructions i have identify one quart of ATF automatic transmission fluid and refers to instruction 11.

instruction 11 reads; "Fill the HONE-O-DRIVE with 1-3/4 pints of Automatic Transmission Fluid. Never allow oil level to be more than 1/8" below oil fill hole. Check level at each engine oil change, and watch for possible seal damage at both ends."

Yes, it is ATF. I'm not sure it matters if it is Dextron or Motorcraft since there are no clutches to be concerned with.
