Default 1968 l-78 el camino ss

Ideas on its worth? 68 ss l-78 4 speed el camino. Still has big bias ply tires. Original engine and supposed? trans. and 4:10 rear. Has headers etc but original carb. and manifold is with it. Has a lot of rust. factory tach and gauges, bucket seats. Its supposed to run but wouldnt start. I would say its sat for a long time.

Define “a lot of rust” for me. Sounds like a project that needs a lot of time and money thrown at it. If it has original paint and can be resurrected as a driver, I’d say it’s worth mid-teens because I have a weakness for L78’s, and 68’s are kinda special... and it still has it’s original drivetrain! I might be way off, but a picture or two would straighten that out.

Default 1968 el camino l78

its original engine,i couldnt check trans./axle. paint is partial original but needs total paint. rust, bottom front fenders, rear wheel lips, bed floor not all dented but some rust perforation, typical el camino rust under rear wind has holes. basicly hood, tailgate, doors are good. supposed floors are good. it needs total resto. none of the paint is salvageable. i was going to buy thinking i could make a little money on it.

A labor of love. $75,000 in panels, parts, paint, labor. Would be beautiful when done but only worth $50,000

not in indiana. i agree on the money spent for return, thats why i only had interest in it to resell. pretty rare piece with original l-78 engine and 4 speed. i cant get any body guys to even look at an old car with rust anymore. its fairly close but i dont want to walk around it all winter.

There was one here locally for years. It sounds like the same car, color and all. I was told it had it's original drive train years ago. Last I heard it was owned by a guy in Dunkirk, In. It had a set of NOS quarter panels with it then. It traded hands a few times in the $7,500.00 range 12-15 years ago.

Given that its strictly a project, I'd have to lower my estimate to under $10k.
