this 1st picture is of the car when it was new january 1970 in the car craft shop in livonia michigan beening convered into a super stock drag car . jack roush had guided the team to this car for the project the only automatic equipped 428 super cobra jet coupe made . andy plym had serious ford connections but basically funded the team himself . andy had inherited 78 million when he turned 21 , the team had the best of everything . the car was run in 1970 , some in 1971 and 72 , as the team campained their new 71 boss 429 pro/stock mustang primarily . at the end of the 1972 season after the the us nationals at indy both cars were taken to paul bedoian at prostock engineering in paramount califirnia for 73 rule change updates . while in california andys family pulled the plug on the racing team as he had spent nearly 2 million dollars drag racing . paul ended up with both cars and the transporter for unpaid mechanic bills . he sold the 71 boss car and transporter in 1976 and i bought this 1970 super stock mustang in 1978 from paul bedoian . paul claims to have raced the car in california under US NAVY sponcership in 1974 and 1975 . this car has every prostock engineering component he developed installed on this car . it now has a balanced and bluprinted 428scj engine , paul rossi bulitproof tranmission , 5:14 detroit locker full floater rearend , with double eyebolt wraped rear springs with 4 corner weight jackers , 74 lincoln big bearing aluminum machined hubs with 4" brake shoes , dual stewart-warner 240 aircraft fuel pumps . i have owned and played with this car for over 40 years . i have restored it a few time over the years both red white and blue and back to its original black . i have never started or totally completed this car . it is a project , everything is there , but needs to be in the hands of a professional to complete this car . i am not a mechanic myself just a rock and roller . so i want to sell it to someone that had the ability to finish it out however you want . i have lots of tires and wheels for it but they are mainly new old . No one has better vintage equipment then this project . the odometor shows 700 original miles . serious calls no text to tim gilliam show contact info
  • do NOT contact me with unsolicited services or offers
