Info on Wilson Chevrolet in Morgantown, W. VA. ??

anyone have any dealings or ever heard much info about this dealer? i recently purchased a rather rare 4K car that was from this dealer (per ncrs).

from what little i could find out about it so far, it appears they shut down a number of years ago. i'd love to know any info anyone has about it, including if any other "high performance" cars are known to have come from there.

Looks like they didn't open up until 1968.I sent you about 5 original ads to your gmail e-mail account. Don't know what car you have as your profile is missing that info.

Paul, thanks a lot for sending those. I hadn't seen that kind of site before. I'll definitely have to check it out.

As for that one ad showing their new opening in May 1968, I wonder if maybe they moved locations and this was a grand opening of the new location.

My car is a 2nd week July 1967 car (very late) and ncrs info said Wilson Chevrolet.

Could ncrs be wrong, or is it likely? Or is it more likely the dealership moved?

Here's a few Wilson pieces from my collection. I know very little about the dealership, the golf tees (orange ) are from 71, I believe the hair net and bottle cap are from 70. The dealer sticker is most likely from 68 on up .

When I looked up those ads I specifically set earlier date parameters and nothing came up. There are of course other Wilson Chevrolet's scattered around the US but I didn't see any others local to W. Va. When I am researching dealerships for my reproduction documents I often contact the local libraries or local historic societies within the state or city for more information. Many have older city directories of business listings. I use these tools to ensure the dealer's address at the time of sale for each car as many dealer sdo move around throughout the years. Here's the link to Morgantown's public library, looks like they may have 3 branches but they'll let you know who has the older directories when you call. Ask them to pull 1967 directories and 1968 and see if Wilson is listed in both. Good luck, Paul
