Default Pistons and valves recommendation

I have to rebuild a big block Chevy Motor. Can anyone recommend a good quality forged piston and also a valve manufacturer? I used to know what was good but no clue who makes decent parts now. With global sourcing I have no idea where parts are made and am pretty much tired of buying junk that arrives bad or prematurely fails. Not looking to build a race motor but would like quality parts that I can have at least a little confidence in. Thanks for any help.

To ask the question another way, brands to stay away from? PM's responses would be fine. Thanks for any help that you can offer.

I used Diamond pistons and Manley valves in my 427. The pistons were custom ordered and a little pricy, but they may have cheaper off the shelf pistons for your application. I think I used the Severe Duty valves. 7300 RPMs and no problems yet.
