After 9 years of abuse....my Hays Street/Strip clutch has had enough.
The bad news is, Hays doesn’t make that clutch kit anymore
but I purchased a slightly used Hays pressure plate, the same as I had in the car and new Ram 310M organic disc. The disc took hours/days to decide what would work best for my application. I want a clutch that is streetable but will work at the track. I HATE clutch chatter. That was the main reason I stayed with an organic disc. Too may people get a dual friction disc and the first complaint is clutch chatter when in traffic, backing up or just trying to load up on a trailer.
I took the flywheel in yesterday to get resurfaced. I should have it back Monday or Tuesday. No damage was done to the flywheel as I took everything apart before the disc was down to the rivets.
Meanwhile, I'm cleaning parts and getting everything ready to reinstall.......and trying to sell parts to pay for everything!!!
