NO, ZL-1 is going in the '69 Nova. Going to be set up for F.A.S.T. style racing and another series up here in Canada that MUST run a dual-plane intake. The ZLX will be the "back-up" to this ZL-1 and will most likely be more street then the ZL-1. Also looking for another car for one of these over the winter/next spring.

The 427/390Hp motor WAS in the '69 Nova. went 10.40's as well. This was the 427 "Polished Sneakers" motor that Pat Budd built years ago and since it's just sitting in parts, might as well put it back together. Same with the old L-78 "spec" motor. Short has been together since it ran 10.47, but did sell off the top end. BUT since I have aquired the ringht '69 840 heads and matching '69 "163" intake, or a few other "Day 2" intakes. These motors might see some time in either my '67 Acadian that is going back on the street, or my '61 409 Pontiac if there is an issue with the '09. Also looking at a nice '57 that has a junk 454 in it, so one of those 2 could be a nice addition.

So these 4 motors, "COULD" see any of the 3 current cars, or the 2 that I would like to acquire. I think the ZL-1 SHOULD be in a '69 Camaro and not my Nova. And I just like a "driver" '57 Shoebox.

ok, so IF MORE POWER is what your after, use the Pro Ram. With these old intakes, the TR starts really coming on about 4500 RPM and will ALWAYS make more power by about 6000 RPM and keep making more. IF you DO NOT have carbs, get with a good carb guy and let them lead you in the direction you need to be for the best of both worlds.

"jmarkaudio" over on YB.com would be a good one to talk too, but any good brand name can do it, we personally use Dale Cubic at CFM. But go TR and don't look back.

I was even looking at these for the street:

Never had a weight on my car. Just a normal, all steel full weight with steel headed 396, M21, 12 bolt bench seat and rallys. What 3300 lbs or so.

Vinnie,
I've had the Tarantula on my Booth-Aron L72 with an L88 attitude since I bought it in '84. After having some cylinder head massaging and porting, it it a killer on the car with 13.5:1. I run the new Holley 850 with 4 idle circuits. I've never had it stop pulling, even at 6800 w/88 gears and a T400.
Jeff
