The original owner simply cut two slits on the left side of the shifter hole and bent it down. I bent it back up so the original shifter boot will screw right into the factory location. I'll just seal where the two slits were made for now. The car has other areas of butchery that will be addressed down the road but the metalwork isn't a priority at this point. I simply want to resurrect the car while making the interior nice. I'm either going to run the early hurst shifter with the 4527 stick or a P&G shifter. Either way it's not going to be a factory shifter for now.

Muncie refreshed with new gaskets, seals, and Thrust washers. I had to install a helicoil because one of the bearing retainer bolts was simply epoxied to the case.
Engine and transmission finally in the car. A lot of little things to be done before first fire up.

This engine was originally built for my 67 Base model Day2 big block swap project so it is by no means a pure 67 engine.
It is a 70's 2 bolt (studs) main block, 077 heads, 198 intake, 3521 crank, list goes on.
With all that in mind I wanted this engine to look like a NOM built up with all of the 67 touches swapped over.
Some of the 67 only goodies include but not limited to:
March 67 3910
Alt+Pulley
Valve Covers
Crank/Water Pump Pulley
PCV Brackets (square tab pcv hose clamps installed after pics taken)

I used thick valve cover gaskets and studs to clear the polylocks.

The RH temp sender on the intake is for a sun greenline gauge

The M/T Super Scavenger headers fit absolutely perfectly

I installed the shifter into final position after mocking up the seat, steering wheel, and console. (the shifter is in gear in the photo because my 4 year old son was "driving to grandma's house"

Mocked up Bruce's custom made plenum air cleaner. He modified a Chevelle air cleaner he removed from the salvage yard back in 1967. He was inspired by the other Camaros at the drag strip and decided to make his own. He says he used a 16" inner tube to seal the air cleaner duct to firewall.

Whatever he used to seal it left a pattern on the firewall (last pic)
