I had considered pulling the 35 SLR out of hibernation a couple of times and doing exactly what you described. Now I'm convinced. Just more stuff to pack around at SCR-X!

You do that Geezer!! I'm leaving my 50lbs of crap at home then!!

I don't think ANYONE would stand for that. Sorry to say, my friend, but you created a monster when you started this whole 'tradition' thing!

None of us can do what you do!

Sam:

Just when I thought I was going to be content with my car you post this!!!! You're killing me shipmate. Seriously Sam, we could all take a page out of your book on ensuring we use wisdom, patience, and a thorough research when aquiring a classic. You have more than a time capsule..you have a grade A muscle car investment with no excuses. Plus, that black and red....good golly miss Molly.

Hey Lee,

How's the fleet? Thanks for the comments. Yeah, even a blind pig will find a truffle once in awhile. I feel truly fortunate to be the caretaker of this Chevrolet. The layers of stories with this car are so rich and interesting and they are known because of the terrific attitude and enthusiasm of Wayne.

Some of you keen observers will have noticed that this car has front and rear bumper guards on the car. They don't appear on the order form or dealer invoice, but they have been on the car since Wayne brought it home. Wayne was having breakfast at this parent's home one morning while he was waiting for his car to be delivered (13 long weeks). He was lamenting that his car just NEEDED the bumper guards to set off the car "just right". Well his Mom and Dad surprised Wayne by contacting the dealership and ensuring that the guards were on the car as a surprise to Wayne. Things like that and the remote mirror are contrary to a street/drag racing brute, but make this car all the more interesting to me.
