Dan,
I have several hundred photos of Interstate/Minnesota Dragways and Northstar Dragways and will look and see if I have any of this car.

You are very likely to have some then. He was at both almost every weekend until they closed up. I was too young to remember much, but he mentioned that the track schedules were a little different - so on a weekend they could hit both of them. Something like one had eliminations earlier and they could get down to the other track in time.

If you find some, that would be great. He'd love it if I showed up with some old track pics. He has very fond memories of both those tracks. The ashtray still has a bunch of old timecards sitting in it.

The nhra number on the windows was 5296 and I remember that the headlamps were painted green back then as well.

Sorry guys, I went through all the photos and only had a few more recent shots. The rest of the old photos must be down at my dad's. That is where I always thought they were - not sure how the one oddball ended up in my collection. The next time I go down there I'll scan them and put them up.

Man I love that car; reminds me of a Rallye Green SS that was on the cover of Car Craft back in the late '70's early '80's. It sat just like your Dad's, had Cragar SS mags and you could see the white headers peeking out from under the car...............priceless.
Thanks for sharing the pictures with us; car looks great.

You say it is orig. paint. Can you get us pics of the black tail panel ? There is a long ongoing argument about if the tail panels are gloss black or satin type black. Looks glossy in the pic but info from your Dad would be a big help. Did he ever paint the tail panel ?

How did it live through those tough Minnesota winters? He must have had another car to drive in winter.

I'd be glad to take some pics of the tail panel - I'll send you a PM.

As far as the winters - yes, it only saw one winter and two summers before it was primarily a 1/4 mile car. That's why it only has 26k on it. It looks pretty good in the pictures, but it's got its fair share of bumps and bruises when you get up close. It's been well cared for, but it's still 40 years old. My father retired recently and finally started to fool around with it again, but other than the last few years, it wasn't licensed after 73 and basically sat parked and covered from about 1980 until recently.

Nothing so far after going through about 2 hours of CD's. I do have more and will continue to check as time allows. I also sent you a PM.

Dan was nice enough to send me pics of the tail panel of his Dad's Camaro. Per Dad the tail panel paint is orig. It looks gloss to me.
