Take a $350/month car payment/lease payment + another $150-200/month insurance/ gas/maintenance etc. $500-600/month buys A LOT of Uber. These kids are not dumb, and a lot of them see it this way for sure

The world is a lot smaller these days due to the electronic connectivity that didn't exist the old days. Now, most kids spend time on their phones and computers exploring that world. The romanticism of the automobile has gone away for most of them, and the excitement most of us felt about going for a ride and the freedom associated with that just doesn't exist for most kids these days. They're more concerned with other experiences. My millennial aged step kids would rather save their money and go to raves and spend their money on the latest electronics than buying a fast car or putting money into their cars to make them faster or look better. They just don't care about stuff like that, unlike prior generations. Times change.

Likely smart as the gen 6 Z/28 would have been close to $100K at the dealer all said all done, and the LT3 would have been a killer engine- but the article is correct because when that engine was killed then all of the rest of the Z/28 planned equipment was rolled out for the ZL1.
It is funny in a way because everybody with a pulse knew that when the ZL1/1LE first came out the Z/28 was effectively dead. Last edited by 70 copo; 07-02-2019 at 11:30 PM. |
