Default 70-71 Trans Am Red Oxide

Can someone clarify for me the correct underside for 1970 and 71 Trans Am? Does Norwood get red oxide dipped and Van Nuys get black? Was it changed at some point of the production year? Any insight is helpful!

Thanks!

Yes that is correct. No it did not change in those model years - Norwood ELPO dip tank red oxide, Van Nuys black paint.

Recently there was a thread with a picture of the underside of car ... all the surfaces appeared very shiny ... was it shot with Gunk Shine Protectant?

Tracker is correct, but there are slight variations in the appearance of the red oxide. I have a Norwood interior cowl section that had not been exposed to UV and used it to color match SPI's epoxy both in shade and gloss. If you're interested, would be happy to share the formula.
