Default 68 MOTION corvette- do you have info on this????

68 CORVETTE- DO YOU HAVE INFO ON THIS????
I am looking for original owner of this 68 corvette, with Baldwin Motion Performance body parts.
The car had Motion GT headlights, Phase III GT slanted rear window.
Also had Le mans gas cap, mirrors and minor flares.
I was told that it was one time in or near Commack, Long Island.
The original paint was International Blue.
It was white when the 2nd and previous owner bought it in 1974.
It had a 427 engine with m22 rock crusher.
I was told it was an 11 second car.

Car was modified to the 4 headlights , hood ,rear spoiler by the second owner.
Yes, the hood ,headlights ,rear spoiler and the fender vent inserts are from
Ecklers.
( inserts still have the Eckler stickers on the under side )
They were put on the car in 84 by the second owner.

When the 2nd owner bought it had the Motion rear window and the GT headlights,
which have been fiber glassed over when the 4 headlights were put in.
You can see them from inside the fender well.
I am looking for the ORIGINAL owner of this car, who did the Motion
modifications
before the Eckler add ons.
Any info is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Joe

A good start is the NCRS origin report. It will tell you what dealer ordered the car and the delivery date.

Might have a tank sticker? Are you thinking B/M or a Motion Supercar? I thought all those Phase 3 vettes had nothing to do with Baldwin. Might be mistaking.
Do you know what they sourced the rear window from?

Very cool Vette!!!

Hi jer
Thanks,
I have not pulled the tank to check for the sticker. I tried looking past the gas boot but could not tell if one was there. I am getting the NCRS report to find were it came from per Tim's suggestion.

some of the parts on the car look later then 60's 70's era maybe from the 1980's

the hood and spoiler look like a similar design to what is on my 1987 Motion Monte Carlo

Motion was still selling fiberglass parts into the 1990s

look for Motion car magazines ads or Motion catalogs from the 1980's

Hi Joe,
As stated above, I already know that the hood ,spoiler, vents and headlight assys were purchased from Ecklers back in 84, When the previous and second owner put them on, which you are correct about the vintage of them.
The rear window flares, gas cap, mirrors and the Motion GT lights, which are still there under the fiberglass, were put on by the original owner, who I was told lived in or around Commack Long Island. I am trying to find him.
Any help with this is greatly appreciated. Hopefully some old Motion fans will remember this car.

I remember seeing a lot of custom Corvettes using Motion parts in the 1970's magazines like Cars Magazine , Hot Cars Magazine , and Vette magazine. Marty Schorr was the editor and featured many cars from the NY area.

Its a long shot, but maybe the car was in Magazine when it was first built

you can find a lot of these old magazines on ebay

here is an example
