Go, dog. Go!
Quote:
Border collies are very intelligent and need LOTS of activities to keep them entertained. When bored and/or left alone for a long time they will find something to entertain themselves. You wont be please with their choices, like shredding all the pillows in the house. Otherwise they are not bad dogs but mischievous ones. He will get your hat, gloves, shoes whatever and run away with them, as a dare. Mine also likes to get boxes out of the recycle bin. The herding instinct is really strong. It has to be managed. or it becomes neurotic. Early training is the key. If you work at home like me or are retired then maybe consider one. They really need some kind of sport to be great dogs. Moon does agility and Frisbee. Others like herding, fly ball, SAR etc. He is a really a fantastic, go anywhere boy. Like people they are all not alike. I would only get one from a very experienced breeder.

Thanks for the information. I’m aware of their energy and since I’ll be retiring soon maybe it’ll be a good thing. I would be open to breeders if you care to share or p.m. me for future info.
Thanks again |
