C8 Z06 test mule footage
THAT SOUND! Looks like a hood scoop visible at the 3:00 mark.

Sounds cool, has a different engine note, flat plane crank engine or something?

Definitely a flat plane crank.

Sounds like a Ferrari, testing the launch and traction control system. I see mid to low 11 second quarter mile times in stock form. Who knows, with some simple mods, drag radials, possibly high to mid 10's.
Crazy....

The stock C8 Stingray runs low 11s in the quarter. The Z06 will be well into the 10s. 9s likely with DRs.

Other than looks, why would a mid engine car need a hood scoop?

It doesn't. It's not going to have a functional scoop. I doubt that it has a scoop at all. Just some GM visual trickery with the body camo.

I'm not in love with the C8's, but I gotta admit it sounds sick

We have run easy mid 11's with a stock LT1 and stock tires on a non prepped track and 2500 DA. There are people breaking into the 10s with a tire, so a ZO6 version should prove to be much quicker.
