There is an old thread discussing the car. It was stated to be a COPO clone.

The restoration destroyed the clues of what it was originally. Anything could have been added. Post pics of the body tag and axle stamping.

Sounds like Steve Shauger puts real effort into evaluating cars, checks the sheet metal and everything.
