Default '66 Chevelle SS396 Convertible, #s 360hp 4-sp

Neat car that sold at Mecum Glendale for $104,500 earlier this year. Apparently the current owner / dealer believes he can get even more for it as it's currently on eBay. Seems like a pretty risky strategy but I'll be watching the auction.

----I understand some modificatios to braking components on drum brake cars. I still wouldn't do it, but each to his own. I might have chosen a more dated looking master if I had done as nice a resto as this Chevelle seems to have had....Bill S

I agree!! But the caps on this car are the '67 versions, as is the shift lever.

A shadowed pic of the block stamp, none of trans or TT?? (Or carb, dist, alt, starter) An experienced seller like this should offer better.

I can see why this car would bring the money at a Mecum auction, appears like a nice restoration. But for six figures the host of restoration details is like finger nails on a chalk board for me.
Hardware store bolts? Really?? - Bill W

Post 66 Chevelle...

Many auction cars don't seem to hold up well on this site because of the knowledge base...with some exceptions.

Nice looking ride...but I would have a lot of questions. If you can or want to spend that kind of money for a Chevelle like this...I would want the Mike Crown seal of approval.
