Believe that would be from a Chevelle, K was the Kansas City, Missouri assembly plant and VIN sequence numbers for '69 Chevelles began at 300001 for all assembly plants.

Except that transmissions were stamped with MODEL year, not calendar year, so an M20 stamped October 23, 1968 destined for a 69 model year car, would be stamped P9R23A.

Has to be a Sept of 1968 Muncie transmission with a '69 model year partial VIN, otherwise it would have been stamped with a '70 partial VIN - only the Camaro extended '69 production past the usual retooling and start of new model release.

Corvette extended 69 production into December, well until PAST the end of 69 Camaro production.

Ok thanks for clarification on that point James. Why was the '70 MY Corvette introduction delayed?

There was a strike and the vette was not produced in May and had low production in April... however I am not sure the reasoning. Could have been Power teams, Vette was scheduled to get quite a few additional power teams but was cut at the last minute.
