Why would I do that? A true Chevy guy to the core.

A few years later he had the Ncrs guys out to his garage mahal, the 69 Camaro, 67 vette and an import were there. On the wall is a viper intake manifold, I asked what the story was on it, he says, that is scrap and I have a receipt for it from Chrysler

He always had the right answer for any question somebody would ask him

I'm glad to hear that.

My career path sort of paralleled John's, except on a 10 year delay (and with the truck group), so I felt a kindred spirit there.

John wrote a lot, including a book about his time at Chevrolet and GM that CRG is pleased to publish.
http://www.camaros.org/library.shtml#report lists all his Camaro content (and also has Chevy service documentation).

The Automobile Business - from the Bottom Up is a direct link to his book. It's a fun read.

Thanks Kurt, just read the whole story and WOW, what a life he had with GM. By the time he went to Chrysler, I was happy to read he had 16 years of satisfying and rewarding employment with them.

John was impressive. Between his memory and his notes, he remembered lot of cool details. I can barely remember working on some of my projects, no less details.

John was an amazing person and his contribution to our hobby is immense. He dispelled many misconceptions and myths. He is sorely missed!
