Default Thanks Shaun (Galveston)

Just wanted to publicly thank Shaun for the use of his shop and equipment to media blast some suspension parts for me, and for pressing some control arm bushings and lower ball joints.

I was actually hoping to do this before I moved out to Arizona, but life got in the way. Three weeks ago, I disassembled my front suspension/

Keep in mind I did a frame-on restoration of this car in 1986, and I drive it, so it won't look very pristine.

This is what I found.

Anyway, the following weekend, Bruce and I drove quite a long way to Shauwn's shop where we knocked out the original lower control arm bushings and the ball joints I replaced in the 80's. I media blasted the arms and some other parts, then we pressed the bushings and ball joints into the arms. I returned home and painted the arms and some of the blasted parts.

For the life of me, I have no idea why I did not replace those lower bushings in the 80's, as I replaced everything else back then.

Anyway, a few days later, I removed the upper control arms and decided to replace those bushings too. They were replaced, along with the upper ball joints, back in the 80's. Didn't take pics of those, as they were really not that bad, but the were cracked. The following weekend, I made another trip to Shauns to service the upper arms, and some assorted other parts.

I was able to reassemble the suspension today;

All 4 wheels are back on it, and I'm letting the suspension settle before torquing the control arm bushing bolts. I'll install the front shocks back in it at that time.

Didn't mean for this to be a tech-type post, as I wanted to thank Shaun for his help and post some pictures up for the rest of you guys.

Thanks again Shaun!

Looks like my negative camber issue on the left front is now corrected! I'll soon have to buy a couple of new Polyglas's.
