Default Build Sheet Question

I just found the build sheet for the 69 L78 Chevelle I bought. Was wondering if anyone out there can help with a code in the "trans" box #28. In the box are the letters "XF". Could anyone tell me if this confirms an M21 trans?

Unfortunately, the buildsheet is only half there (the left half) and the last code to appear on the bottom listing is the L78.

Any help is appreciated.

Blair

From what I have seen.
XD=M21 Trans.
Correction..XI=M22 Trans.
This from an assortment of Buildsheets.

The sheet was found recovered from the backseat. Not sure if it was in the bottom or the back, as the gentleman I bought the car from found it. The car was biult in Framingham, MA, and sold at Ed & Frank Chevrolet in Saco, Maine. I have the POP and buildsheet for the car and everything seems to jive with the trans stamping P9D08B, but the POP only lists the trans stamping as P9D08.

Any thoughts? The buildsheet clearly states "XF".

The "B" on the trans would confirm an M-21. The P-O-P does not normally show the letter code for the trans. Not sure about "XF"

Thanks to all that helped confirm the "XF" code.

Sure does put to rest any speculation on the correctness of the drivetrain.

Now the project starts.

Did Chevrolet put the two letter trans codes on the Muncie case like Pontiac? On my car there is a DL yellow stencil on the top of the case to help line workers when they were picking parts.
