NOW THAT'S COOL!
I can't find those MFG plates as easily as I once could.
Definitely the Holy Grail of Plates.

The "015" is the same but the smaller numerals and letter on the left side of the plate is different. Still, a very cool find.

Here's an old photo of a '66 Corvette with those same 015 manufacturer plates, this set has a "24 T" prefix.

Here's a '67 being tested by Road & Track with a different set of 015 manufacturer plates. This set has a "27 H" prefix.

Those things were used till at least 1971, as I have two pictures of my 71' LS6 Corvette with the "81 E" prefix. One picture is in the June 71' Car and Driver, the other is in the August 71' Car Craft. I have tried for years to see if any records were kept regarding the issuance of those tags, but thus far, no luck.

Yet another example of black CA 015 manufacturer plates, this set seems to have an "MT V" prefix. Car is the Motor Trend '63 Corvette road test car.

The 015 suffix probably (guess) denoted the Los Angeles zone office of GM where new cars were loaned to magazines, etc., for test purposes.
