Please post or direct me to a link picture of the correct optional steering wheel for a 70 Z-28. I'm getting varying answers on the horn cap and wheel itself. Are the ones I see on ebay commonly correct? Also, what is the lower far right hole next to the clock for on a 70 camaro? Defog? What if your car doesn't have defor, what should be there?
Thanks for your help. |

I guess optional you mean deluxe interior which gets woodgrain accents. Standard is same wheel but black, RS package gets a RS in the center SS gets SS. There was no 4 spoke wheel on 70 Z28.
Your right Defog switch, without just got a blank cover. ![]() Deluxe interior non RS ![]() Standard interor non RS no Defog ![]() Deluxe interior Defog

Thanks Jack.
Any idea where I might find a standard 70 steering wheel? How much do they generally go for and are there any other GM models that are identical? |

I see them on Ebay from time to time, I would guess $250 or more for a nice one. Camaro only on this wheel, Good Luck!!

Question? The steering wheel I've got in my '70 non-RS Z has the woodgrain accent on the horn cover and the dash looks like the second picture, standard. According to the build sheet the car came with standard black interior, so somebody may have switched out the cover at some point in time.

I see AM/FM...could be either Mono or Stereo, but certainly not 8 Track Tape units.
Push buttons would be Above the dial window. |

Z-23 Interior Accent Group put the Wood Steering Shroud and Wood Dash in a Standard Interior. The Shift plate would still be black. Wood shift plate only came with Z-87 Custom Interior

Here is my interior with the Z23 and Z87 groupings. I also have custom seats and seat belts... unrestored completely original.

If you want them to go, buy me a new pair... ![]()
