Default Joe Gibbs Racing to Toyota

Its official. JGR will field Toyotas in 08, both Cup and Busch series. I'am having a hard time seeing Tony Steward in a Camry.

Thoughts.....Opinions......?

Isn't it basically a spec race now with the Car Of Tomorrow? Basically decals and artwork are all that separate one "model" from another. The Toyota V8 is pretty much a purpose-built race motor that utilizes what Ford and GM have learned with their small blocks more than anything Toyota learned in their other pursuits. I guess I just..don't..care...anymore......

Tom...you and me both. The new cars are a far cry from the cars of old...they are full on race cars with sheetmetal that closely resembles the actual car.

February 18, 2001. The day that Nascar died. Just my opinion.

Bring back the days when NASCAR stock cars were production based cars that were modified for racing instead of this IROC variant that it's become. I could say the same thing for NHRA Pro Stock cars too. I miss the days when the cars were factory built cars that were modified for racing and many of the racers actually shifted their own gears. The fiberglass replicars that Pro Stockers have become are boring. I prefer to watch Stock and Super Stock.

Me too. I am angry that all they show on TV is F/C, T/F, P/S and the bikes...there are other classes you know!
