1969 Camaro Rear Shock Mounting Stud
Has anyone run into an issue when replacing the rear shocks (1969 Camaro) and the lower mount stud is to large to fit into the steel bushing that secures the lower shock to the traction bar. I'm attempting to install vintage NOS air shocks the stud (which appears to be standard size) is notably too large to fit through the lower shock bushing.
Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks~Fred

Sounds like you got shocks for a 10 bolt.

I am pretty sure I did this once.... See if you can remove the metal sleeve in the bottom eyelet and leave the rubber. Should fit snugly over the big stud.
I may be way off on this. Pics would help.

Re: 1969 Camaro Rear Shock Mounting Stud
I think you guys have the right mental pic, I have uploaded a pic...the threads fit through however the shank is too large...my confusion comes from these studs being included from the manufacturer.
The shocks were identified for use with 1969 Camaro with multi-leaf springs...don't know if 10-bolt or 12-bolt makes a difference. Sammy...I don't know if they sell different size pins, if they do that would be the ideal route.

Re: 1969 Camaro Rear Shock Mounting Stud
Of course, you are correct. 10 v 12 is not the factor I was thinking of. Multi v single leaf.
Is it so far off you can't put a little silicone lube on it and force it?
