The one, The only 1967 IPC
Goes to Auction at May INDY LOT R335
Rumors say circumstances of the sale might be somehow associated with the "Canadian controversy" discussed here in another thread. Car however needs little introduction AND has celebrity ownership history https://www.mecum.com/lots/SC0522-50...n-convertible/ |

And just to confirm it’s original paint as the ad states?

Mr. Lillard can speak directly as to the condition of the car.
Based on my short drive that I took in the car, it appeared to be a time capsule right down to the original Cambell Ewald supplied door decals which were in the exact same positions as photographed at the Speedway in 1967. |

Years ago it used to say Dan Young Chevrolet on both quarters. I don't know if that was painted on or a decal. Maybe this is the reasoning for asking about original paint?

1/4’s repainted as well as tail panel and header panel. When they did a Pace Car reunion at Indy they had Dan Young repaint the 1/4's. Was hit in rear while pacing a race. Header panel when someone backed into it. Amazing car.

I always had a nagging question about the legitimacy of the front top header panel due to the emblem placement. The lower header valance under the bumper does look completely original. |

The other thing I noticed is that someone added door edge guards.

Finally, I think when the quarters were repainted they color matched the pin stripe to the length of the body on both sides to the color that they used on the repainted rear quarters. Its more of a match to the Marina Blue on the nose instead of the bright blue striping color that was used at the factory.
