Default Old ford woodgraining

thought i would brush up on my woodgraining, its been over 20 yrs. since i:ve done this, since then all the products have changed. my dad has some 34 ford 4 door garnish moldings laying around that i fixed and woodgrained.

before i started, heavily pitted

after alittle mud work

few coats of primer

after base and woodgraining, went to clear coat, but was still tacky, plus one of the molding decided to hit the floor,

this weekend i will have my son clear coat, sand and recoat

That looks really awesome! Just curious, do you always use those dust masks while painting? I've always used a respirator.

A dust mask is not the safe way to be painting.
I can't believe someone would do that, then take pictures, then post them.

If it is 2 part catalyzed enamel the isocyonates will settle in the lungs... VERY VERY BAD.
A dust mask is not good for any type of paint fumes... if you can smell paint... NOT GOOD!
I have been painting since I was 8-9 first thing was a horse trailer, I have not always used a respirator (young and invincible) however I do not sand etc anything without wearing an activated charcoal respirator. I now use a forced fresh air supply when I spray catalyzed paint.
