Default Some interesting Camaros

A friend gave me a call yesterday to look at a car he was just finishing off for someone. It was a 1989 1LE Camaro built for the Canadian Players Challege Series. While I was there I took some photos of the cars in the collection.
The car was restored to the way it looked in the first season.

Here it is between a 68 Z28, and a 91 1LE Camaro.

A 91 Challenge car, a 68 Z28, and a 69 COPO.

This Z28 has a red interior, fold down seat, and power windows.

A very low mile HemiCuda;

Three GT500's. A 67, 68, and a new one.

An SS454 getting the engine freshened up.

Those look like stock Z-28 wheels. The car raced with them back in the day ?? Not familiar with that series

Those early 1LE camaro's are quite rare, very low production figures. Do you have any info on the copo camaro?

This was a Canadian only series, and the 1LE cars were different than the US ones. Especially in the later years. In 1991 they were 1LE R7U cars, and had power steering coolers among other things. I'll have to talk to my friend again about them. I was a sponsor on the red 91 car. I'll find some old photos.
I can get more info on the COPO car, it's not far away from me.

I had 3 1LE cars thru the years. All came thru Young Chevrolet in Dallas. I had a 91, a 94 and the last was a 98. The 98 took the longest to get and was very stripped. AC and an AM/FM cassette. They did have a 97 show up with power nothing and leather interior--go figure. My 91 and 94 did not have AC, but my 98 did. When we ordered them, we never were sure if were we going to get them or when. You could order your paint colour, but sometimes they would show up whatever GM wanted to ship out.
