Default help me find my era... in pics

I hope it is ok to start another thread about my last thread "the top 10 questions". I figured it would be cleaner this way. The best advice that I read so far is to hone in on an era with pics of what I like, so here they are with a little explination for each. If I use someones picture I am sorry and if you want it removed I completly understand.

The simplicity of this car is amazing, love the mix wheels, cragars, very clean and a tall front tire is a must.

Ladder bars look tuff

This wheel set looks killer

a subtle name on the side is cool

The toe tabs in yellow with yellow ladder bars would be neat, USA 1 plate a must.

This car has a few things hood pins, subtle pin stripping and the front wheels are cool

This just screams tuff

I love this but is it to far?

white headers, accel coil so cool

cool can and a flex fan, nice

would it be wrong to do this with red to match the interior of my car?

My original inspiration I hung around my uncles car from 1981-86

I quoted from the other thread since they seem to be related.

There certainly some 1980's tendencies in your questions. The one thing I was thinking about with all of our comments is your Uncle's Chevelle. That was the real deal that influenced you. If you use that as your template- then you can't go wrong.

Some 80s tendencies, yes, but it looks to me like most of the pics are earlier. The first five pics I would ballpark as very late 60s or early 70s. The Chevelle with the nice front wheels (probably Centerline Auto Drags) is a little later because of the front wheels and some of the decals in the quarter windows. The Nova with the tires sticking out is probably late 70s or early 80s. However, I was born in 1981, so don't take the above as gospel.

I'm going to suggest to you what I plan to do myself: build your car like it's the early 70s (tunnel ram, cool can, white headers, monstrous coil on the firewall, flex fan if you like, traction bars or ladder bars, etc.), and have two hoods and two sets of wheels and tires. The earlier stuff will be Cragar, slot, Keystone, or similar skinnies up front and steel wheels on the back, and your hood will have either just a hole cut in it for the tunnel ram or a Grump Lump hood scoop. Your later stuff, maybe mid 70s, will be Cragar super Tricks or Centerline Auto Drags on all four corners and your hood can have a later style of scoop, such as a snorkel.

My 73 Camaro 307 engine back in summer of junior into senior year of high school (1989)just after I yanked the A/C compressor off so it would go faster.

I am restoring my 73,but in the meantime I am sorting out the 408 smallblock under the hood of one of my other cars. I dressed it up with the parts from back in the day,and now even have the original fan shroud(not shown). Yes,it makes 400+ hp with that air cleaner on it.

Maybe these pics arent day 2,but they are retro correct for me.

I miss the 80's also. I remember so many cars running around with something air brushed on the back.
You saw a little bit of everything in the parking lot we hung out in. Everything from 69 Camaros with tunnel rams and blowers to Toyota 4WDs with 44" tires.
