Default Garage-find Hemi, 1985

Just sitting there in the street in 1985. Saw it taking a back street home from morning college classes. Got my camera and went right back and took the picture because no one believes it w/out the picture.

Nice whitewall.

Used to see muslce cars looking like that around here in late 70's early 80's. Saw a clapped out Superbird (that is what they call the Road Runner version, right?) in the late 70's in OKC, parked on the street.
Don't remember if it had a sweet whitewall on the front though.

Actually that could very well be my old Daytona. They only made a handful in Y2 Yellow. Mine was a hemi, with an automatic and a black cloth insert interior. It was originally from Denver but made it's way out to the west coast around that time period. I bought it as a restoration project from Otis Chandler in 1989.

That pale yellow faded out very rapidly when new, to an off-white so who knows?

Wow if that is the original car it is no wonder the wheel covers were gone by 1985!

Where was the OP photo taken?

In 1982 I passed on a 69 Y2 Hemi Charger 500 for $1500. Had just finished looking at a 66 Hemi Coronet 500 that was apart down the street from where it was sitting. Since the Charger was missing its' Hemi, replaced w/ a 318, I decided I didn't need it either.
DUMB!
