Funny thing is, someone will pay that kind of money for those.

Wonder what they would ask for a set that was actually dated correctly for your L88 http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

What makes those L88 specific? Mine are alll '71 dated too (but are destined for the lowly LT1 http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif )

i don't get it,
why would someone pay that kind of money for there L88 1967 to 1969 Corvette spark plug wires to have wires dated from 1971?
to me it defeats the purpose doesn't it?
did those wires come on the 1971 corvette with a LS6?

Might have, but Delco made thousands of boxes of those as replacement wires. I saw some of the same style Delco wires dated 1984 just a short while back. Not many L-88's or LS6's made in 1984. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

To have original ones dated late would result in a smaller deduction than reproduction wires correctly dated.
The reproductions are not correct in the wire type or boots.
Some owners mix and match original wires with reproduction boots as some original wires are available. Some match reproduction wire with original boots if their wires are shot. Any way you do it, it's expensive for original L88 wires and boots.
Steve, correct me if I'm wrong on any of these points.

Tim, those wires are neat but with the wrong dates I could not justify that price. I know Llectic limited made nice repop wires for the L88 but those were 900 a set. They stopped making them for a while but they may be back on the market as a restorer bought their entire stock a few years ago and was charging 3k per set. I feel very fortunate to have the original wires still on my car.
