Hi all,

I just bought a cool survivor-ish '67 GTO HO convertible. Looking to buy a set of redline radials from Diamond Back and run a set of 1960s TTDs I've had stored away. I thought I wanted 225/70 15s, but after seeing the car in the link below (has the 225/70-15s on the front) I think they are a little tall. What do you folks think would be an ideal size?

Thanks!

I think you should talk the owners of that car to ditch the master crafts for redlines. 225/70-15 would look good and would fill the wheel wells like the designers wanted.

225-70's are way too big for that car. Do yourself a favor and keep the 14's on it.

Thanks guys. Don, if 225/70 is too big what would you recommend?

A 235/60R15 is 26" tall - pretty close to the stock tire height. Works well on a 7" wheel.

I think a 235/60 15 may be too wide for an early A-body, up front that is.

235/60R15 section width is 0.393" wider than the 225/70 proposed above - tread will be a bit wider, and the tire will be shorter though. I know they fit stock height 69-70 a-bodies with no issue at all using a 15x7, typical 4.25" backspace wheel. Never tried on a 64-67 though.
