I sent the add to an acquaintance in Alabama who by memory has the same car.

By memory, all taken apart, blue with black interior, 3 or 4 speed his fathers car, pictures from back in the day.......

Yes, Ron Shafer Chevrolet was in Anniston and I have a few more ads from there I'll post later.

It was a KK Tripoli Turquoise coupe, w/ a repaint in Butternut Yellow, bought &amp; ended in flat black primer...396/4 speed. It had a MM tag on it. I want to say it was bought in the Youngstown Oh area? A good friend of mine had it and sold it and got it back in pieces. I got it from him and gave the shell to local Camaro collector-friend. Very little left on it. It was a early car with Astro Vent etchings on the door glass, non tinted glass,and style trim. Beast of a car....I know the guy I got it from still has the tags. Sadly, I'm not sure what frame of mind he's in today....I'm sure I know right where they are.

BTW, it was not a 9737 car..std 120 speedo, and sway bar. We were well aware it was different and never could understand why it had that tag.

Interesting on the Myerstown Auto Deuce - I thought I knew exactly which car that was, until I saw the A/T part..... The Fathom Blue 'Snoopy' Deuce was def a 4speed, so it wasn't the Deuce I was thinking of. Might have to go on a hunt!!

On the Deuce Ad from Jeff City, MO; I believe this ad refers to a Citrus Green Deuce sold new at Riley Chev in Jefferson City, MO. The original owner sold it around this time and then tracked it down many years later and bought it back! The other 2 Riley Deuces were totalled, the orange one was titled once in '70, the blue one was never titled....

Do a search under the Minneapolis Star and Tribune from back in the 70's some time if you are bored. Back in the mid 70's there were TONS of high performance cars for sale in every Sunday's paper. I used to read it just for the dreams of owning one of them. Several Yenkos were listed over time.

Digging deeper, it appears the Minneapolis papers have been scanned by NewspaperArchives which are a different group than the Newspapers.com folks I'm riding with although I may try them on next after this subscription ends.

For the Philadelphia area, the Penske and Lafferty dealers are pretty well known but the Degnan ad is new one for me - likely a dealer transfer from Penske who I think got 4-5 of 'em. Similar, is the Hauser Chev ZL1 that was previously thought to be a Gibb sold car.

And thanks a TON Pete for digging up this old Nankivell ad. The car mentioned as &quot;The '69 500-Pace Car, on Display and For Sale at Nankivell's&quot; is none other than my actual Pacecar 124679N608347. Nankivell wouldn't actually sell this car until mid-November (ownership transferred from Chevrolet to Nankivell on Nov 13th, and then sold on Nov 17th). So the car must have been on display at Nankivell's dealership for several months while still technically being owned by Chevrolet.

One of Sabatines cars was a XL1- the other was Yenko- which is still out of the Washington, NJ area owned by a guy it ran on the road called the leaping lizard. Lenovo Sabatines speed shop prepped my 1970 L-78 Cheverly for me in his shop which I ran at Varga and Island speedway for a year. I like the &quot;Cameros&quot; Penske was offering. Penske had quite a bit of advertising dollars spent on marketing that green ZL-1. Really surprised that the dealers that were selling them (ZL-1s) referred to them as such. Sure, we all know what they are today, but did the hot rodders and racers of the day know that nomenclature? After all, it wasn't displayed on the car like a Z/28.

Wish I knew what color exterior and interior it was. The engine was likely pulled in the later 70's and a small block installed when gas prices skyrocketed.

----M22 Corvettes were rare enough in 66 (15 built), and J56 brakes a little less so (382), but the stunner in 66 was that 6 (I am almost sure of that figure) L88 Corvettes were built and released by Chevrolet in 66. None were for public consumption but at least 2 still exist and are beautifully restored. There were also 65 Corvettes built with 396 and M22s, but I only know of one for sure and it is unrestored.......Bill S

Holy crap Pete, that's my car! I mean it must be, mine is the only one that was sold new and lived its life in Phoenix, and the mileage matches as well. I had no idea this classified ad ever existed, this is awesome! According to my old titles this timing also roughly lines up with a change of ownership. Wonder if the ph# still works...

Continuing on, I just did a search on that ph#, and it looks like the car was advertised almost exactly one year earlier in the same newspaper. Pete, is it possible you can lookup this ph# from the April 5, 1974 issue of the Arizona Republic? I can't see the ad itself, but the summary of the OCR scan says it had &quot;13,000 total miles&quot; at that point. If you can't get the ad no sweat, what you've posted already is tremendously cool.
