Looking for a nice clean set of original headrests for 69 Camaro with black interior. Prefer a mint set if I can find one.

PM if you have some clean one. Thanks

Are date codes important to you?
As the shaft is dated
Best wishes

If dates are not important - Legendary makes a nice reproduction
If they do please send me your contact info and I will see what I can dig up
Unless someone else has something readily available

Might want to make OP aware they changed the angle of the HR in Nov 68 and if they care about correct or original, that may make a difference?

DOES LEGENDARY MAKE COVERS TO RECOVER ORIGINAL HEADRESTS

Thanks Fred,

I have already bought a set of the head rests from Legendary and they aren't that great to be honest. Not quite the same contour along the bottom of the foams nor do they want to sit all the way down in the slides like they should. If I can't find a decent set of originals, I'll work on these and perhaps alter the post (or slides) to make them bottom out. If you look close you can see they are 1/2" proud of the seat and don't drop down properly. I did put aftermarket slides into the cores as the old ones were cracked and might have to look at the slides as well to ensure they aren't contributing to the problem?

Ah, the seats in the pic are Curved neck ones, starting on Camaros in Late Nov 68, but there was some overlap due to stock on hand. http://www.camaros.org/headrest.shtml

I have both curved and straight headrest seats. I have noticed if you try to put curved headrests on straight headrest seats, they do stick up more than normal. But when looking at the slides and plates, I have been unable to notice a difference. Another mystery for future research!

These seats had curved neck headrests originally. The slides were both cracked so I bought a set of repro slides from Camaro Central and new curved neck headrests from Legendary. Once I put the slides in it was immediately noticeable that the headrests stopped short of seating properly. I haven't played around with them yet but may have to if I cannot find a nice set of originals. The old ones were badly cracked and unfortunately I threw them away before checking to see if the slide is the actual problem

I talked to Legendary at Carlisle in the spring and they told me that interior die would not stick to theirs because of the mold release agent that is used.

Just passing on what they told me.

So on the Camaro does the headrest have one or two slides per headrest. Iv got a mint set of black headrest that have two slides per headrest. I thought they were from a chevelle bench seat if they will work for you I'd be interested in letting them go.

Camaro has one bar per unit. I think the 2 round bars are for Chevelle and Nova

The ones got alittle paint on it from sitting on the rack for the last 20 years I think. Stitching on my one is off a hair here's a pic http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics/usergals/2016/10/full-5586-50294-image.jpg

Mike, Those are 69-72 A Body bench seat headrests. Won't fit a 69 Camaro seat .
I'm sure someone can post a picture of what Earl's looking for.

I did post this image and when I preview it shows up, but when I post the IMG tags don't allow it to display. I don't know why but here's the correct head rest I am looking for.
