Total frame off restored 409/409 Biscayne, original red/red, totally rust free, I mean zero body repairs. California one piece bumpers, When I bought the car it came with all the original 409 parts except the engine. 1962 dated 068 casting block, 690 heads, correct carbs dual points etc. Borg Warner trans, 4:56 P case posi. I wasn't able to get pictures of the undercarriage today due to weather and moving cars around to get on the lift but I will add them later. I can tell you the under side is every bit as nice as the rest. Red oxide floors, correct exhaust with resinators as it should be. Every nut and bolt clip and cable is new or replated. Even the steering wheel is NOS. I won't say it is the best biscayne I will let you be the judge of that. No expense was spared on the restoration $79,000.http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics/usergals/2016/12/full-7894-54254-pict0007.jpg

I forgot to add I couldn't find a replacement rubber floor mat for a red interior so I had no choice but to use the carpet. If anyone here should know of a set I would be very interested to hear from you.

That is sick, wow. Congrats on a beautiful Biscayne.
Just curious, what's the price difference between a 409 Biscayne and 409 Impala?
GLWS.

If you mean what was the price difference when new I can't answer that for sure, I am sure Verne can answer this more accurately than I. If you were to ask me what is the price diff in todays market I feel the biscayne done right verses an Impala done right the biscayne will bring significantly more that the Impala. I am aware that this is entirely up to the buyers but if you look at what is hot in todays muscle car world it would be hard to argue that the fewer comfort options the higher the price.

V8 Biscayne 2dr sedan: $2431.
V8 Impala Sport Coupe: $2776.
(about 14% more)
Option prices were the same on all models.

I think this was the car next to his at the MCACN 409 display in 2015

I did have this car in the MCACN 409 display at the 2015 show. I also had a nassau blue 409 biscayne at the same time but Verne asked me to bring this one because he already had a nassau blue car signed up. The blue biscayne was featured in the Super Chevy Platinum issue in 2012.

Thanks for the kind words but I have to give the credit to Larry Carpenter from Rockford Illinois for he is the one that I contracted to do the restoration, I merely collaborated and wrote the checks on this one.

Sorry I haven't added the pictures of the undercarriage yet but the weather here has turned to crap. We have been getting a freezing drizzle for the last 24 hrs @ 22 degrees so my driveway is an ice rink and I can't move the cars around to get on the lift. Hopefully better weather ahead this week.

I still haven't been able to get this car on the lift to get proper pictures but I did come across some that will partially show the undercarriage. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics/usergals/2017/01/full-7894-55914-pict0191.jpg

Thanks Kevin, I have always been drawn to the bare bones no options and high performance drivetrain cars. Yes Larry restored this car while I was working in Texas, it was finished in 2014.

You may ask why did I weld the exhaust jionts, I did this because thats the way they came out of the factory. The only clamped joint was the one on the back of the main muffler. If you are in doubt check the 1962 assembly manual. I have a good friend that bought a 62 409/409 new on his 16th birthday and he still has the exhaust in the attic off of that car to verify this.

I do have a documented 68 L79 nova for sale that needs finished. It is the gold car that was advertised on this sight a couple months ago. I bought it and really don't have any idea when I will finish so consequently it is being offered up for the same price as it was here.

If this car was a bubbletop it would be a six figure car but is isn't so I have adjusted the price to $65,000 for the next 30 days to free up space in the garage.
