An Enormous Extraterrestrial Diamond Comes to Auction

An interstellar diamond that blasted to earth from either a supernovae explosion or a meteor is now coming to auction. At 555.55 carats (it fills the palm of a hand), the Enigma diamond is too large to wear, but it does make for a great conversation piece.

Dating from 2.6 to 3.8 billion years ago, the stone is a carbonado black diamond, according to the GIA report. These unique diamonds contain traces of nitrogen, hydrogen, which is abundant in interstellar space, and, osbornite, a mineral exclusively found in meteors. That confirms it didn’t come from this earth.

The Enigma diamond is valued between $4 million and $7 million but could go much higher because of its record-breaking size and history. It will be offered at Sotheby’s online sale from February 3-9, and they are accepting cryptocurrency for payment.

“This diamond is a true natural phenomenon,” says Nikita Binani, Sotheby’s Jewelry Specialist and Head of Sale in London. “Its sale represents a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to acquire one of the rarest, billion-year-old cosmic wonders known to humankind.”

Ryan Scott Ashley from Gilmanton, NH, caught the freshwater cusk on January 13, 2022, in Lake Winnipesaukee—the largest lake in the state.

The fish measured 35 inches in length and weighed 12 pounds, 8.48 ounces, making it a new state record freshwater cusk catch, New Hampshire Fish and Game (NHFG) said in a social media post.

Freshwater cusk, otherwise known as burbot or by their scientific name Lota lota, are found throughout the world in northern latitudes.

I never went fishing while living in Long Island, but I did do a lot of scuba diving. You need to dive on wrecks because the ocean floor in LI is nothing but sand.

One of the wrecks is almost gone. All that is left is the bottom of the ship. Maybe 1 or 2 feet above the sand. Lots of nooks and crannies where lobster like to hide.

And . . . also eelpout. The ones in LI have what looks like the head of a newborn baby on a long tail. Very un-nerving when looking for lobster and you come across one. Yuk!

I have this magazine which shows a convertible ‘66.
As we know, the convertible used a boxed frame which is a heavier, so why would it be used on a drag strip test car ??

Also, this car has Lemans grills that somehow were fixed with GTO park lamps and emblem.
The headlight bezels have also been painted gold.
