It's back; this is a real ad. Examined it several days ago and verified stampings. Prom Queen original drive train Z/28s are getting six figures at recent auctions; this is one you could drive and enjoy while making improvements.

so is it a true cowl hood car & is it missing any of the hard to find parts

Not built with ducted hood. Just the hood was added; no holes drilled.

UH radiator, 837 alternator, AIR system, dg pulleys all there. Fairly certain the distributor is 1111480. Did not check for YH wheels; spare wheel is not. Carb is a re-issue 4053. Rear axle is stamped BU0501G, p-o-p is BU0502G. Horn relay and VR are service replacements.

Great car for someone who actually wants to drive and enjoy a '69 Z/28!

I like the burgundy - relatively rare color. too bad someone went and spray-bombed the engine compartment. Should have white overspray across the top of the firewall.

The car originally had RED stripes you can see where the tape pulled in the trunk jamb and exposed the RED.

Does the engine start up/running sound very rough and not a good "lopey" "rumbling" kind of way?

You referring to this pic James? I think you may be correct. Where else would that red paint come from? Are there other ones documented this late in the model year? I thought the red stripes on Burgundy cars only happened early in the model year, then got changed to white. If originally red, shame they didn't go back original. Of course, the owner probably got tired of every Camaro expert telling him the stripes were wrong.

That was well bought for a M22 original drive train car.

I agree James, well bought for sure especially compared to some of the high prices observed recently.

I was under the impression that the burgundy cars got the red stripes if it was ordered with red interior. I guess I was wrong. Did a search to verify for myself and came across this Mecum auction that has one that was similarly equipped. Note that they indicate (perhaps incorrectly) that the car in the auction is the only known Z with burgundy and red stripes. Lot#F168

I dont think this car came with red stripes. The red thats been pointed out looks like its on top of the white. JMO

I also think the thing that kept the price down on this was the condition of the underside.
