The cool part is if you look at that L88 engine stamping it looks like it has a cars vin stamped also. I wonder where that car is................

I saw that too. Looks like a nice assembly stamp and ID number stamp. Broach looks good, also. Some car may be missing its L88 motor.

In the photo of the engine compartment...it appears to have a Big Block heater core ( which could have been added )
...and in the top left corner ...is that a bracket for a/c? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif
...but looks like it could be a fun car http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3gears.gif

That assembly code appears to be "IU" and if memory serves me right that denoted 1967 (and maybe 1968) L71/L89. 1967-68 L88 used an "IT" assembly code.
Also, the first digit of the VIN derivative (year designation) looks to be a "4". http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

It looks like "IU" engine code, but the VIN looks like 18S(or 5)41xxxx.

IU comes back as 67 and 68 435 hp with Aluminum heads and Manual Trans...need to find out the car is belongs to.

It must have had A/C at one time. Look at the dash and you see the vents. 67's didn't have astro-ventilation so the vents are for the A/C system.

Another factory small-block car, trying to be a converted engine Supercar. The owner must not know that converted engine Camaro's, etc, were not vin# stamped, on the other hand, maybe he does know! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif
That would be great to find the original Corvette this L-71 came out of.

One question guys.....what is this owner tring to make this car out to be, a B/M, Yenko, or Nickey? He doesn't mention any of these Supercar names in the Ebay listing.

Jeff 18S would be right for a 68 corvette

I looked at a few 68 Corvette VIN's and they are in the 8S4xxxxx range as well so it sure looks like that engine is from a 68 Vette.

I don't think he's saying anything about being a supercar. He states the original motor and parts go with the car. The motor is a 350 that looks correct I think the car is a steal. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

That's exactly what he's said in his add. "Converted" it's a clone. It would be a fun driver & I like it too http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

OK, I didn't know which direction the seller was going with the car. I thought he might be trying to pass it off as an original "converted" 427 car from B/M, Dana, or Yenko.

Someone is going to get a good buy on the car, especially when the original "numbers matching" 350 comes with it. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif
