I got this car and have intentions of driving it for fun; however, I would do it an injustice if some one wanted to restore it. It's a low mile loaded car, that everything still works and I mean everything.
455, sunroof, and 3.08 limited slip. Every factory hose and what not is still hooked up and functioning.
If anyone really wants to do this car right it would be great; otherwise it will be a driver while I have it. Here is the original window sticker that came with it: Sticker (http://www.empgmc.com/race/windowsticker.jpg)

I always thought those were good looking cars....what happened to the nose ???

The noses turn to dust, not magic dust. 500 of the pieces are in the trunk.

I take it the "Endura Pliable Front Panel" isn't so pliable after all these years. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Just like the old Cadillac fender extentions, band news all the way.

Let me do some calculating http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
I traded for a 69 Judge body I valued at $3,500
I put on some snowflakes with brand new TA Radials $350 pro-rated.
I spent $250 replacing the clutch on the original AC compressor,$150 on ignition tune up, $200 on new front window, $200 on tranny, and $300 on new exhaust....
that totals umm..... $ 4,750.00 invested.
Since I would like to give it a home with intent of restoration or keep it because I love to drive it down the highway, break even would be fine with me.
Let me give all the details as I know them. There are 4 rust issues: both rear wheel molding areas are rusted, right front fender lower rear (just like they all do and the original owner told the guy I got it from it started 2 years after he had it), and the worst is the upper front window channel from the vinyl top. It is the original paint and doesn't look that bad considering. The front nose is in 500 pieces. The dash light on the AC control doesn't work. And the 8 track player drags just a little, actually I'm not sure if it isn't just my 8 tracks are 25 years old. Everything is old and a little weathered.
Little things like the factory part number stickers for the suspension springs are still on it. And it flys down the highway and floats like a butterfly. I drove it to POCI in Joplin 100 MPH the entire way with the air on and got 12.37 miles to the gallon. HAHA
Hope that's enough and rememmber that http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/BelairSucks.gif

The pic was taken by the guy I got it from, that is his house. I asked him about the El, and this is what he wrote me back about it.

The Coke sign was his great auntie's father inlaw's nephew's, it was stolen by Peruvian midgets and last seen on an 1979 cube van headed for Honduras.

There are two things I have had one of in my life: 1 Ford 1/2 ton and 1 El Camino. I will never have either again.
I bought the Judge for the motor with the stipulation this guy would buy the Judge, then before the deal was done I decided it would be cool to have something to drive to POCI since all my Pontiacs are down. So you see, the Camino would have never worked.

Quit ganging up on the Pontiac guy...at least he isn't saying it's 1 of 1 RAVIII car that John DeLorean drove to the hamburger stand with Wangers sitting shotgun or something. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/haha.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/haha.gif

First car on Ebay, woo hoo.
Ebay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4524990648)
I grew up with a lot of these in my HighSchool parking lot.
March 05 Hemmings Muscle Machines just did a Feature car write up on the 1973 GTO 455 Colonade. They do go onto say that these are moving up in the ranks,& that finding parts is scarce.
Good looking Car I think. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

It sure does ride nice down the highway, but it's just not my thing. I just hope some one will get it and enjoy it, or else I'm going to strip it.

I have to correct myself, "second car on Ebay". I had the Vette on there, but it didn't sell from Ebay.
