I personally think that car is over restored. All those inpsection dabs and markings make the thing look like an oil painting, not a Chevelle.

This car has been on ebay before. Bid to about the same number ~$60K. The "QA Inspector" was one of the neatest on the planet. Must have caught him right after a coffee break! Not sure why they didn't take higher resolution photos of the car to show it off - very grainy. Would like to see the cowl tag and engine stamp pad too. Attractive car though.

This dealer is local to me..thay have had "problems" before! I agree too much paint under the car and with no GM paper to go with it I think it has reached the top dollar.

I looked at this car sevaral times. Real nice resto, but way over done with markings. The dealer does the paint daubs when he gets the cars in. It was very difficult to see the pad numbers. Lots of paint, and behind the alt on 69's. It started right up and sounded nasty with the solid lifters and cambered exhaust. No paper except resto receipts, and a note from the "original owner" stating it's authenticity. But how would you know it's legit if you can't prove it's from the original owner? He told me last time I was there he was looking for $70,000.... I thought it was a lot of cash for a car with no docs.

Do you have your facts straight i have been in business 15 years with no problems selling beautiful Muscle cars.
If you know something i don't please let me know??
I don't mind your opinion on a car but why would you slander someone when you do not have facts straight???

Please elaborate. What facts don't we have straight? I see no slander anywhere here http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif?? And yes it seems that car is over-restored, in my opinion.

I can verify this to be a real L78 with its original #'s matching engine, I have owned this car for 8 yrs. I challenge anyone on this site to look at the engine stamp and tell me it is not correct. The block has never been decked and there is some light pitting on the pad, but the VIN is definitely there and you can read it without moving the alternator.

Over restored Under restored Never a happy Medium... Real car that sounds nasty. Original owner and brother went down to Sutliff Chevrolet on his 21st B - Day and bought twin L78's one being this Chevelle and an RS/SS Camaro both brand new and he blew his brothers door's off with this chevelle.

I like all the marks...some don't some do....you may think it's overdone but I got to tell you ...I have a 64 untouched Belair that has a damn book written on the firewall...both sides...I can only imagine what the underside looked like but it has a coat of surface rust....they may have put less on them come 69 but there must have been plenty...

My post was in reference to a specific member who said this dealer is local to him(NOT!)and this dealer has problems(NOT!) i think he does not have his facts straight. hope i have elaborated enough for you!
Opinions are great don't mind them i hate cars that are under restored! I would rather have a correct over restored car with factory markings any day! To each his own. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif
Fact is that this car is a documented original L78 car and was restored by one of your own members who owned the car for 8 years and lives in the same town as the original owner, it is an awesome car done top notch and many people will sit around saying i shoulda bought it when i saw it !!! Story of their life a day late and a dollar short http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

Was/Is this dealer formerly known as Golden Classics?

CamaroKing

NO. Classic Muscle in Forked River NJ owned by Jim Satiro. This post was never about any reputation of a dealership just what some think is an over restored car.

Classic Muscle does have a point though. Someone posted that this dealer has had "problems". Unless that statment can be backed up by some cold hard facts, then it should be retracted. Good reputations take years to build. Unfortunately, they can be damaged in an instant by nothing more than innuendo.

Just my 02 cents.

BTW, it is a gorgeous car.

Most members of this site are well aware of Nick's name changes to the dealership in Lakewood, several have visited the dealership and have personal experiences. Like any car purchase, check it out before you buy.

It all sounds a little goofy to me. If you (Classic Muscle) bought the car, why is it still for sale at Future Classics and still for sale on there site. I was told by the salesman at Future Classics, when I was there a couple weeks ago, that they owned the car and they were not selling it for a private party. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif Soooooo, if you bought the car, it's no longer for sale??? Shouldn't it say SOLD on the web site?

CamaroKing

The only thing that sounds goofy is you. You say you were there a few weeks ago well this is not hard to follow car was Sold to CLASSIC MUSCLE last week when he put it on Ebay car did not sell and he is taking to Mecum in Fla. Car was not removed from site as to if the were a REAL buyer a Dealer to Dealer sale would be made. Nothing goofy nothing shady. I know you were like " I wish my 325hp sounded like that when the car was fired up " http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

My answer to that is who cares what you think! I think your a little Goofy and i never met you.
You seem so obsessed with the mystery of the L78 Chevelle a little buyers remorse??? Shoulda bought it when i saw it http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif
Future Classics no longer owns the car i am selling it and they will also continue to market the car CASE CLOSED!!!
You buyin or you cryin???

Charley, I think you are missing the point.

Charley Lillard
01-25-2006, 06:27 AM
I am always missing the point. It is normal for a car to stay advertized at a dealer even after it is gone. If a buyer inquires, the dealer knows where to get it. No big deal.

CamaroKing
01-25-2006, 06:44 AM
That was my point no big deal.
