I personally think that car is over restored. All those inpsection dabs and markings make the thing look like an oil painting, not a Chevelle.

This car has been on ebay before. Bid to about the same number ~$60K. The "QA Inspector" was one of the neatest on the planet. Must have caught him right after a coffee break! Not sure why they didn't take higher resolution photos of the car to show it off - very grainy. Would like to see the cowl tag and engine stamp pad too. Attractive car though.

This dealer is local to me..thay have had "problems" before! I agree too much paint under the car and with no GM paper to go with it I think it has reached the top dollar.

I looked at this car sevaral times. Real nice resto, but way over done with markings. The dealer does the paint daubs when he gets the cars in. It was very difficult to see the pad numbers. Lots of paint, and behind the alt on 69's. It started right up and sounded nasty with the solid lifters and cambered exhaust. No paper except resto receipts, and a note from the "original owner" stating it's authenticity. But how would you know it's legit if you can't prove it's from the original owner? He told me last time I was there he was looking for $70,000.... I thought it was a lot of cash for a car with no docs.

I can verify this to be a real L78 with its original #'s matching engine, I have owned this car for 8 yrs. I challenge anyone on this site to look at the engine stamp and tell me it is not correct. The block has never been decked and there is some light pitting on the pad, but the VIN is definitely there and you can read it without moving the alternator.
