I am selling my 72 RS Z28 (1 of 2575). It is the real deal as indicated by VIN and trim tag. The car runs and drives fine. But it does need a total restoration. With exception of one hole quarter sized hole the floors are pretty solid. The frame rails look to be in good shape up until the rear spring shackles where they are rusty. The rear body panel is pretty bad. From what I can see the cowl area is pretty Ziebarted and looks solid. Subframe also looks very good. I drove the car during last summer and had a blast with it. The car is Mulsanne Blue/Blue car DX3 no stripes. But now it is painted in a teal blue. Supposed to have blue interior but now has mostly black.
The original drivetrain is long gone but here is what it has. The 427 is from a 400hp tripower 69 Vette (512 block dated F 30 9). It has the oval port heads and a intake from a 65 Vette I believe. It also has the TH400 from the same 69 Vette. It is a 12 bolt with heavy duty goodies in it.
Here is a list of what is has:
MOTOR:
427 FROM A 1969 CORVETTE
Upgraded 4 bolt main caps on the crank
Line bored, balanced and decked
11:1 forged pistons
Melling high volume high pressure oil pump
Mallory 60,000 volt promaster coil with unilite distributor
Manley Pro flow stainless steel valves 2.19/1.88
Competition Cams Street Magnum roller rockers
Hooker Headers with Flow Masters
TRANNY:
Turbo 400 short tail from same 1969 vette
Cheetah shift kit
11” B&M 2500 RPM stall converter
B&M Star shifter
REAREND:
12 Bolt
Strange Racing pro-street axles
Moroso Brute strength posi-unit
3:73 gears (also have 4:11)
Centerline Rims Polished with rivets with cooper cobra GTS tires
$6500.00 or reasonable offer

Darren,
You were so excited to do this Day 2 project...something tells me that your up to something.
"Something came up" ????????????? SURE????????
If I know you....your working on something to replace your Day 2 project. This is only my hunch. Lets see if I am correct.
As far as the 72, a great car. If I didn` t have so many projects....I would buy it. Good luck.
Dan.

Thanks Dan. I did have fun with it. My highlight must have been at Lombard when I put on the smoke show. Bet my marks are still there. It will be missed. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/burnout.gif

A '72 Z, Blue/Blue was my first muscle car. It took me all of 6 months before I lost enough points to almost lose my license. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
I wish I could spend the money right now, but I just got another letter from my lawyer - nasty divorce. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

A very nice project car. Saw it in person and has a lot of potential! A real Z car. Maybe a Joe Satmary tribute Pro Stock car. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3gears.gif

All it needs is a little TLC... Had fun discussing this one with you Darren!
Nothing beats a good, good project for not a lot of dough.
Good luck Darren!

Darren I think that is a Kool Car, I have not looked at the car in person but it seems like he did a real nice job on it. Kind of makes you think what a 70 Yenko would have been like. We need to get all of the info on this car for the 70 SS/L78 Registry we are putting together.
Good Luck with her http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif
